EDITORIAL DECISION AND APPEALS POLICY
JURNAL KEPERAWATAN BUNDA DELIMA (JKBD)
1. Editorial Decision
Jurnal Keperawatan Bunda Delima (JKBD) is committed to ensuring fair, transparent, independent, and ethical editorial decisions. All manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and compliance with publication ethics.
JKBD applies a double-anonymized peer-review system, generally involving at least two independent reviewers. The final publication decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor based on reviewers' recommendations and editorial assessment.
Editorial decisions may include:
-
Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication.
-
Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor improvements.
-
Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may undergo further review.
-
Reject Submission: The manuscript does not meet the journal's scientific or editorial standards.
2. Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions must be based solely on scientific merit and ethical considerations, without inappropriate personal, institutional, financial, or commercial influence.
Editors must disclose potential conflicts of interest and withdraw from handling manuscripts when their impartiality may be compromised.
3. Appeals Against Editorial Decisions
Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they identify significant factual errors, procedural irregularities, potential conflicts of interest, or substantial misunderstandings that may have affected the evaluation.
Appeals must be submitted in writing to the JKBD editorial office and include:
-
Manuscript title and submission identification number.
-
The editorial decision being appealed.
-
A clear explanation of the grounds for appeal.
-
Relevant supporting evidence.
Disagreement with reviewers' opinions alone does not constitute sufficient grounds for an appeal.
4. Appeals Review Process
The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized independent editor will evaluate the appeal by reviewing the original editorial decision, reviewer reports, and supporting evidence.
When necessary, additional independent reviewers may be consulted.
The appeal may result in:
-
Upholding the original decision.
-
Reconsidering the editorial decision.
-
Requesting additional peer review.
-
Allowing manuscript revision and resubmission.
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee manuscript acceptance.
5. Confidentiality and Final Decision
All appeals will be handled confidentially, objectively, and fairly in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The final decision will be communicated to the corresponding author with an appropriate explanation. Appeals involving a conflict of interest will be assigned to an independent editorial representative.
