DATA SHARING AND REPRODUCIBILITY POLICY

JURNAL KEPERAWATAN BUNDA DELIMA (JKBD)

1. General Statement

Jurnal Keperawatan Bunda Delima (JKBD), published by Akademi Keperawatan Bunda Delima, is committed to promoting transparency, research integrity, data availability, and reproducibility in nursing and healthcare research.

The journal encourages responsible sharing of research data and supporting materials to facilitate the verification, replication, and further development of scientific findings while protecting research participants' privacy and confidentiality.

2. Data Availability and Sharing

Authors are responsible for maintaining accurate, reliable, and complete research data supporting their published findings.

JKBD encourages authors to make relevant research data available whenever ethically and legally permissible.

Data sharing may include:

  1. De-identified research datasets.

  2. Research instruments and questionnaires.

  3. Study protocols and methodological documentation.

  4. Statistical analysis procedures and analytical codes.

  5. Supplementary tables, figures, and supporting materials.

Editors or reviewers may request underlying research data and supporting documentation to verify the accuracy and integrity of submitted manuscripts.

3. Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscripts, clearly describing whether and how supporting research data can be accessed.

The statement should specify:

  1. Whether the research data are publicly available.

  2. The repository name and persistent identifier, if applicable.

  3. Whether data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.

  4. Any ethical, legal, or confidentiality restrictions on data access.

When data cannot be shared, authors should provide an appropriate explanation.

4. Research Reproducibility

Authors should provide sufficient methodological information to enable other researchers to understand, evaluate, and, where feasible, reproduce the reported findings.

Manuscripts should clearly describe the research design, sampling procedures, data collection methods, measurement instruments, analytical techniques, and relevant research limitations.

Authors are encouraged to use recognized reporting guidelines appropriate to their research designs.

5. Data Privacy and Confidentiality

Research data involving patients, healthcare professionals, or other human participants must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

Authors must:

  1. Protect participants' personal and confidential information.

  2. Obtain appropriate informed consent and ethical approval when required.

  3. Remove direct identifiers and assess re-identification risks before sharing data.

  4. Avoid publicly releasing sensitive patient or clinical information without appropriate authorization.

  5. Apply controlled-access arrangements when open data sharing is inappropriate.

Patient confidentiality and research ethics take precedence over unrestricted data sharing.

6. Data Storage and Preservation

Authors are responsible for securely maintaining research data and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable institutional policies, funding requirements, and legal obligations.

Research records should be retained for an appropriate period to support scientific verification and respond to legitimate editorial inquiries.

Where possible, authors are encouraged to deposit shareable datasets in reputable institutional or disciplinary repositories.

7. Data Integrity and Research Misconduct

JKBD prohibits data fabrication, falsification, misleading manipulation, and misrepresentation of research findings.

If concerns regarding data integrity arise, the editorial team may request original datasets, research documentation, ethical approval records, or other relevant materials.

Suspected violations will be evaluated in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Correction and Retraction Policies.

8. Responsibilities of Authors, Editors, and Reviewers

Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, appropriate documentation, and lawful sharing of research data.

Editors are responsible for evaluating data-related concerns fairly and requesting additional documentation when necessary.

Reviewers are responsible for assessing the transparency and adequacy of research methods while maintaining the confidentiality of any unpublished data provided during peer review.

9. Data Citation and Reuse

Researchers who reuse publicly available datasets must appropriately acknowledge the original data creators and sources.

Data citations should include the dataset title, creator, repository, publication year, and persistent identifier where available.

Data reuse must comply with applicable licensing terms, ethical requirements, and data access agreements.

10. Policy Commitment

JKBD supports responsible data sharing and research reproducibility to strengthen scientific credibility, facilitate academic collaboration, and improve evidence-based nursing and healthcare practices.

The journal seeks to balance research transparency with ethical responsibilities, participant confidentiality, intellectual property rights, and applicable data protection requirements.
